We are smack in the middle of a couple thousand miles of windy mountain roads. The kind you see on the tv commercials for sports cars and motorcycles. Now intersperse nice little towns along the way, with some funky restaurants, and end up back at your Cabin in the Woods to soak in the hot tub and relax. Hmmm, now that is a vision. A couple days of scenic road trips, and a day of rafting or a canopy tour.
Just sayin’, if you do not already know how famous this area is for road trips, motorcycle or car, you need to get your motor running!

We are scheduled to visit this weekend and I’m looking for things to do. Is there a website or something I can visit to get some ideas on local to dos? I just had surgery on my hand so unfortunately I can’t do any of the usual boating, biking adventures. Let me know. Thanks so much.
Lots to do even with a post operation hand. I am guessing you are able to take a walk so I will start with that.
The Visitor Center (grab the map) at the North End of the New River Gorge Bridge is AMAZING! I do not think enough of our guest take the time to give it a good look and watch the slide show. You will have a good feel for our culture and history starting here. Just outside of the visitor Center are two over looks and you want to do them both. Now its time to use that map and take a slow drive down into the gorge on Fayette Station Road. Stop often and get out and read the signs, walk out on the “little Bridge” take pics of all the cool little water falls. Now you are ready to head into town for lunch or dinner. Next up are two amazing trails Endless wall and Long point! You can do both in one day take a lunch to long point or stopping in town for lunch in between hikes. Bridge Walk is and Ossum adventure and just requires walking well worth it. We have lots of small towns around us and each one has some interesting shops. If you want to take a drive I would suggest heading over to Grande view and Sandstone Falls or up to the Cranberry Glades. These are a couple of websites, hope your hand feels better soon.

we are looking for a company that rents atv/utvs that do not rent for the hatfield/mccoy trails exclusively. we have a couple of boys in our group who are 17 and want to drive a 2 seater or 4 seater and they aren’t allowed to operate one on the hf/mccoy. we will be in the fayetteville, oak hill area in late july. if you have any info for us, we would appreciate it.

Hello, We do not know of anyone other than Hatfields/McCoy area. They are a good drive from here but everyone enjoys the trip. The other place (burning rock) has closed down. Hope that is some help.
